Technical information

The Diver's Platform is not just a float, for the first time a real tool to help instructors, commercial divers and students enhance their diving experience. The design is the concept of instructor's collaboration and collective experience which has brought about this unique and completely functional design.

The design encompasses all the needed features to accommodate the varying situations' an instructor may find himself in, while teaching new students to enjoy the sport of diving.

Diver's platform is unique in its design. With real engineering the concept came by using technology from aerospace -commercial and general manufacturing. This has brought about the newest form of a diver's floating WORK BENCH. Its uses are many, whether you are instructing from the surface, or working on a key skill under the water you now have a place where, you can store equipment i.e.: weights-lights- ropes and the instructor's slates, or ascend to the surface to rest or brief a skill.

It has never been thought that one would need a floating work bench.

Tech divers have yet to appreciate the true value of what the Diver's Platform can do for them. If you need a rugged floating platform to suspend extra tanks for decompression stops or suspend a hanging expanded metal basket to put tools in while working below you now have it in the Diver's Platform. Just thinking about the different uses is exciting.

What about recreational divers is this just a tool for the professional? Not at all, the Diver's Platform for sport divers, is a place to surface and hold on to while sharing the latest experience while on the last dive. It is easy to accommodate six divers on one platform and eight if necessary. What about those currents that causes people to float apart? With the distinct handle designed to hold on to, and at just the right height, currents no longer frustrate the student and instructors and aid in the completion of the dive.

Diver's Platform is it strong? Yes, in fact if you take a look a the expanded assembly drawing you will see that not only will the Diver's Platform take a beating but all the parts are assembled so you can have the platform repaired at the factory . Features include the tensioned swinging stainless steel anchor rope attachment point. This is the key portion to a long lasting work platform. The 3/8 stainless steel attachment loop is made of rugged 304 stainless steel. The anchor attachment retainer ring is 16 gauge stainless steel. It is laser cut and hydro-formed and was designed to tolerate the harsh environment the sea hands out every time you enter the water. Directly underneath and attached to the bottom is another 1/8 thick aluminum ring which is riveted through three precisely placed and engineered parts. This family of parts work together to distribute the stresses and force across the bottom and into the sides relieving the anchor point of the job of holding the platform in place all by its self. Together the parts work as one complete attachment point. Durability is the key in making the worlds first long term and well made FLOATING WORK BENCH.

The bottom of the Diver's Platform is made of 5052 Aluminum alloy. Manufactured on a metal spinning lathe, the metal is spun in to just the right shape as it is spun over a precision tool. With long term durability in mind the spun bottoms edges have been radiused, and relieved to capitalize on strength. The design itself comes together to create a structure so unique when assembled together with the sides of the tank. Each assembled part complements the other to complete a totally symmetrical structure in design and strength like no others in the market place today.

The outer handle is the pillar or corner stone of the Diver's Platform. It is a unique feature that simply put, works and it works well. It could be called a place of refuge to a tired diver, a meeting place to the sport diver or a class room to the instructor. This is the one feature on the Diver's Platform that truly stands head and shoulders above anything in diving development in recent years.

The hoops are made of special 6061 t-6 aluminum extrusion designed just for manufacturing. The formed extruded hoops are formed at just the right radius to house the heavy duty inner tube for floatation. They were designed to bring about a solid connection between the tank, the tank bottom and the handle itself. When you say it like that you begin to realize that the design was the result of clever/engineering and the need to fill a void.

Diver's Platform... It's new and it works well.
